“Old Penwithians” is an association of former pupils and members of staff who, at any time in its 70-year history, attended the Penzance County School, which became the Humphry Davy Grammar School. It aims to provide a link where old boys can keep in touch with each other, and organises an annual reunion at the Queen’s Hotel, Penzance on 29 December each year. Members of the Association also receive an annual newsletter entitled New Penwithian. A single subscription of just £10.00 secures life membership. Click here to download an application form. As well as producing its annual newsletter, the association has recently updated and reprinted the book Three Score Years and Ten, the history of the school written by Lawrence James and the late Ben Batten – both former members of staff. It has also commissioned an association tie. The Reunions page contains information about our annual meeting, there are also occasional year group reunions and pub meetings throughout the year. Our gallery gives access to a large collection of team and class photographs; we hope with your help to increase the visual archive in the gallery. The School Song was recently recorded at The Queen’s Hotel. It is available here.
